FAQ’s:

Q: How do I sign up to enter? A: We’ll have sign ups on our website/at the gym. More details to come.

Q: Is there an age limit for the comp? A: Our gym is primarily a 13 years and up facility, so we will try to keep this Series true to that same standard. With that said, if you are younger than 13 and are familiar with navigating bouldering gyms/comps we will make exceptions on a case by case basis, you can email us to inquire. Thanks for your understanding!

Q: Will there be different categories and how do I know which to enter? A: The main purpose of this series is to have a Free & Fun community event to help maintain psyche through the summer. With that said, it’s always a little tough to know where to place yourself and how the leaderboard rankings will shake out in climbing comps. For example, the difference between last place Advanced and first place Intermediate is always a challenge to fine tune. The gameplan for this comp is to have standard difficulty categories, which WE will place you in based on the difficulties of the climbs you are sending, as fairly as we can.

Q: How will points be awarded? A: Sending Boulder Problems! We will have point values assigned to each boulder problem based on its difficulty level. For the Comps, you’ll have scorecards that you’ll list your Top 5 sends on. For the weekly sets you’ll need to notify us at the desk each week, as to what sends you want to lock in. At the end of the Series we’ll tally all the points up and announce the rankings. Ultimately, this is all on the honor system.

Q: Can I change/acquire points from a previous weeks set if I send something harder? A: No, you will only have a one week window (dated above) to get points for that weeks set. For instance, once the Week 4 set goes up, you can no longer acquire/change points from Week 3’s set.

Q: Can I repeat a boulder and use the same points twice? A: No, each boulder problem has to be a unique send.

Q: Will there be bonus points? A: Yes, we may throw in some random bonus point problems/challenges. We’ll post those on Instagram and in the gym if we do so.

Q: Will there be prizes? A: We’d like to think the Series itself is the real win here. But Yes, there will be some form of prizes awarded to the top placers in the different difficulty categories at the end of the series.

Q: What happens to my 30 Day Unlimited Pass when you are closed? A: However many days we are closed we will add to your Pass’s end date. Apologies in advance for any inconvenience, unfortunately closures are necessary to set for comps.

Q: How is this a free event, don’t Comps cost money, are you taking donations or sponsorships to put on the Comp? A: A little known industry secret is that climbing comps usually cost much more money to put on than they generate, even when they charge for the event and have sponsors. Ultimately, climbing comps are a way to give back to the climbing community, which is our purpose in putting this series on. But yeah, if you are enjoying the Series and would like to make a voluntary monetary or prize/sponsorship donation to help us offset the costs, we certainly won’t turn you down!
